Deputy Chairman Sam White to enter CEO Cookoff
Ray White Group Deputy Chairman Sam White will join other corporate leaders and 30 of Australia’s top celebrity chefs to provide a meal for a thousand people in need in the CEO Cookoff.
The event at St Mary’s Cathedral Square in Sydney on Monday, February 6, creates awareness about food security and homelessness while also raising much needed funds for OzHarvest and Mission Australia.
Mr White said it was a fantastic cause and he was looking forward to participating in the event and securing much needed sponsorship dollars.
“As a company we have a responsibility to the broader community and it’s great to be able to help the disadvantaged in any way,” he said.
“The 200 participating CEOs have been asked to gain sponsorship in the lead up to the event to raise funds for the cause, with all monies shared equally between OzHarvest and Mission Australia.”
The CEOs, including Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce and National Rugby League boss David Gallop, will swap their suits for aprons to prepare and serve meals for the homeless.
Mr White said he was looking forward to being guided by celebrity chefs such as Maggie Beer and Neil Perry.
“My children aren’t huge fans of my cooking but I’m hoping to get a few tips from some of Australia’s culinary greats that will help me improve,” he said.
“However, this event is not about my food. It’s about helping the homeless and hopefully raising hundreds of thousands of dollars.”
The CEO Cookoff will be held in St Mary’s Cathedral Square from 5.30pm to 10pm (AEDT) on Monday, February 6, 2012.
