Western Bulldogs Property Boom

March 4, 2010

THE property boom, it seems, hasn’t escaped the notice of a group of Western Bulldogs.

Brownlow medallist Adam Cooney, Shaun Higgins, Ryan Griffen and Tim Callan have got together to land a property at auction in the Geelong suburb of Newtown.

Led by Newtown-raised Higgins, the Bulldogs came in late after a long tussle between three bidders to buy the prime piece of real estate for $842,500 on Saturday.

Ray White agent Jim Cross said the three-bedroom home, on a 1259sq m block, had been in one family since 1916.

Cross said the Bulldogs would look to demolish the house and develop the property.

‘Early indications are that they will develop it,’ Cross said.

‘The former owner is quite an avid football fan so she was pretty excited to see those boys get it.’

Geelong defender Andrew Mackie was also at the auction.
